We need the original file, not a copy sent via WhatsApp or email, which usually loses its metadata.
Device, date, author and program.
Versions and dates of changes.
Signs of retouching or compositing.
When the file contains it.

Frequently asked questions
Before you instruct us
Does a photo sent via WhatsApp keep its metadata?
No: WhatsApp strips it when the photo is sent. We need the original from the device that took it.
Can you date a PDF or an Office document?
Yes, from its internal metadata and that of the system where it was saved, checking that they are consistent with each other.
Can you detect whether an image has been retouched?
Often, yes: we look for inconsistencies in the compression, the metadata and the image itself. The report states the degree of certainty.
